Been awhile since my last Journal, eh? Anyway...
Tonight, I finally got ready to sit down and write. I had the big scene planned out, and was trying to figure out how to open up the story. Just as I plugged in the right music and marinate in the mood, who should come along but one of the four kittens I'm taking care of?
So Ginger decided he wanted to walk across the keyboard. Of course, I don't allow that, and kept shooing him away. He then turned to gnawing on the wire to my headphones.
"Go play with one of your siblings," I told him as I picked him up by the scruff of the neck and plopped him down on the floor. The little blond kitten wouldn't have any of this, and jumped back on my lap. I gave up, instead opting to ignore him.
Little Ginger then decided my hand was far too fascinating to ignore and started trying to wrestle. So, one-handed typing it was. But I couldn't stay in the right mood for the scene with all this cuteness!
"Ginger, stop being cute!" I ordered.
Gnaw-gnaw-gnaw on my fingers, all four paws wrapped around my hand and wrist.
"I'm trying to write here!"
Gnaw-gnaw-gnaw down to my wrist, all four paws now wrapped around my forearm.
"It's a serious scene, kitty! I can't write something so sad with something so silly going on!"
For a moment he stopped, almost as if to consider my request, then suddenly flipped and started nibbling on my elbow.
"I'm trying to write a death scene!" I pleaded this time, trying not to giggle.
Before anything more could come of it, two more kittens showed up, all demanding to be on my lap.
So here I am hours later, with one kitten asleep next to me, the other two wrestling with each other on my lap, and still no writing done.
I am not ashamed of this.
Have a good day, everyone!
